Fishing in the great outside
Welcome to Chilliwack, British Columbia. Known as 'The Great Outside', Chilliwack offers world-class fishing in spectacular surroundings. If you're looking for a fishing challenge, make one of Chilliwack's mighty rivers or crystal clear lakes your next destination.
The Fraser River is one of Canada's longest and is also one of the most productive in North America for Salmon, Steelhead, prized Chinook and world record sized Sturgeon. Guided tours and charters are a great way for you to find the best fishing in the area. During summer, lower river levels expose numerous gravel bars where anglers gather to drop in a line for the day. Chinook and Sockeye Salmon run through until the fall. Steelhead and Coho begin to enter the river in early September so there is a chance at catching a variety of fish in the same day.
Chilliwack's reputation as a year round world-class fishing destination is further enhanced thanks to the mighty prehistoric Sturgeon. The choice of catching powerful fish in the 10-foot range or serene fishing for Rainbow Trout in our mountain lakes is an experience people from all over the world visit Chilliwack for year after year.
